I just started Georgie on the astralagus over the weekend!! I am trying to avoid having to take Georgie to the vet for an injection or a dip. The vet wants to give her the dip for her puppy mites (dermadex). But I opted not to go with such a harsh treatment first. I tried a neem oil bath which made my whole bathroom stink (even today it lingers and I did it Sunday night). I just out some neem oil with her shampoo. I also want to try the lemon solution. I will need to scroll up and find out more about it.

The vet wants to give her a shot of iverctem (sp?!) tonight but I am going to pass on that, too. I just want to try something natural first before injecting her with something so chemical based!

I am hoping her immune system pops up with the astralagus and the mites will be kept at bay and killed off with my other he treatments.

It's all trial and error, but I'm trying...

Thats all you can do is try It was trial and error when I first started giving herbs to Gouda. I just got my Astragalus in the mail today I found at it cheaper at amazon.com. I was giving Kippah a week off so this works out nicely

We've been giving the girls fish oil in the morning & then 1/4 tsp of coconut oil in the evening with their food. Now today at the vets office the tech told me I should pick which to give & that the fish oil was the better of the 2. Will it hurt if I continue to give both like I have??

Hi... What form of ivermectin are you using?! Oral or injection?! I am so nervous to start Georgie on this, but I feel like she's already losing more fur. . So, I don't want her to get any worse.

I've done the neem oil bath and started her on astralagus, but I think those will take time.... I also massage the balding spots with coconut oil... But, these will not kill off the mites she has already? The vet said since she's a puppy her immune system is the cause of this demodex... But, he suggested a dip, which I really don't want to do... I've just read several horrible reactions to it... And the injections don't seem any better... He said I could try an oral dosage of ivermectin. But, I'm still so hesitant... I think any meds might compromise her immune system even more...

I'm so confused...

So, I was just wondering how you were administering the meds to Cameron?!
Thanks...

Most techs and vets are trained in traditional medicine and most dont even know the benefits of coconut oil. You can give both they each have their own properties and things they contain.

The only time I would say dont give them both is if the dog just isnt handling them together at the same time such as stomach upset or changes in the GI system that just dont go away.

I personally prefer coconut oil because of the vast benefits. Far more than the fish oil. NOT saying fish oil isnt a good thing it is and if you want to you could choose one or the other thats up to you.
