poor guy.. he should not lick for at least a week maybe longer for the undecended testicle area,, they have no choice but to find it and take it out since it has higher chance of turning into cancer up there

I don't have any experience with the bruised sac area with a boxer, but Benjamin's sac was extremely swollen and bruised for at least a week. That being said, he's a terrier mix and had to go on Zoloft or one of those anxiety meds to calm him during the time he was in pain and healing because he would run and turn in circles trying to get to the incision... constantly.

Hope Wyatt feels better soon! I would say the cone needs to stay on until the exterior incisions are all absorbed or taken out, depending on which way the vet went. I think 7 days is the minimum? I may be wrong.

Wow, things have been busy for you and Wyatt...

I just wanted to say my thoughts & prayers are with your sister while she is deployed and may she return home safely to you and your family.

Glad to hear Wyatt is doing okay... Poor guy. He looks absolutely miserable in those first two photos.

Depending on how "calm" he is inside of the house (when he's not in his kennel/crate?) you could always keep him on a leash. This will help to prevent him from running around or even jumping on furniture. We had to do that with Serenity when she was spayed. It wasn't fun and made for a long 2 weeks, but it worked. I swear, trying to keep a boxer calm is one of the hardest things in the world to do, especially when they feel better and get back to acting like themselves after a day or so!

he has dissolvable stitches that they said could take up to 4 weeks to fully dissolve. I can't wait to give him a bath b/c he smells like a hospital! I'll ask the dog trainer on Wed what she thinks about how long to keep the cone on for! Wyatt stays pretty calm iin the house and since we put the tree up yesterday he's alot more mellowed out! He hasn't thrown up or hd the run...and he's been eating great!

Yes, we have been extremely busy, didn't even mention funeral home and funeral this week for my neighbor who accidently shot himself cleaning his gun. He was checking to see if his barrel was empty and his 2.5 yr old son can running through the door and scared him and his finger slipped. Such a sad story!

My sister will be in Kuwait for 400 days and has two beautiful "baby" boys. Almost 4 and 2.5. They left on Friday to go to her unit and she leaves for Ft. Bliss, Texas on Monday, she will be home for 4 days for Christmas and then Jan 2 (I think), leaves for Kuwait. They are building the first army base there.

I've been keeping an eye on him when he's outside, and if he starts to run I yell out to him to stop. He's his most relaxed about an hour after I give him his pain meds, he takes a really nice nap! Must knock his butt out! I think he's starting to like sleeping with the ring around his head, nice pillow!

Your sister will be so close yet so far away from me. Ft. Bliss is about 8 hours drive from me (570 some miles). So sorry to hear about your neighbor, so tragic.

Yes very tragic, emotional, stressful week! Here's a photo of my little mans incisions, and his "sack" never looked at it before to know if this is bruising or normal coloring... Any opinions? Sorry it's blurry, was hard to get him to sit still... You know boxers!
