Default Busy week...

So Wyatt ( and myself) are having a busy week! Sunday was my sisters deployment farewell party, today we had my nephews birthday party ( 10days early) bc my sister leaves Friday. Tomorrow we start puppy classes... YAY!!!! And Thursday he goes in to get fixed. Also he had the one testicle that never dropped so surgery will be a little more invasive. anyone ever deal with that? The vet had told me before about getting a cone but I've talked to quite a few people who said they aren't necessary. Im worried if I dont take my own they will charge me for one of theirs. Any thoughts? I drop him off in the am and have to pick him up between 5-6. I'll be home all night and don't work on Friday until noon ( leave around 11:15). Should I get one for the time he will be crated Friday? 11;15-5:30? Or should he be ok?

Please only positive feedback!

I would get a cone.
The last thing you want is to come home from work and find out he pulled all his stitches out.
Better safe than sorry.

Thanks, I'll pick one up at our puppy classes today.

I've never had a male to have stitches, they "glue" them back together. I don't know if its literally glue but in my experience neuters are waaaayyyy easier to take care of than spays.

I would probably get the cone to be on the safe side as well. I wish him the best of luck & hope he's back to being his normal self quickly.

It's actually quite common. They usually do a neuter to take out the un-descended testicle so that it prevents any issues later on in life.
It's a little more invsaive (kind of like a spay instead of a neuter) but he should be fine afterwards.

Just make sure to keep those stiches free of any licking and to keep him quiet I too would suggest getting a cone. You can get one of the soft ones....

Definitely get him a cone. He'll be fine, but you don't want to take any chances with infection. Here's an article I found that may be helpful: Retained Testicles Dogs | petMD
