Default Lump?

So as you know Wyatt was neutered a week ago. His incisions are healing great! On Wednesday at classes he was being very um...., STUBBORN! He kept laying down and wouldn't listen to me or the trainers. Luckily my trainer is awesome and didn't mind. But we did notice a lump near on of his incisions. She said it could an abscess. So Thursday morning bright and early I called the vet. Explained the lump and she told me it was a suitcher (sp) reaction. Anyone ever hear of this? She said it should go away within a week but if I'm still worried about it I can bring him in on Monday.... Any thoughts?

It's a reaction to the suture material.
So long as it doesn't look infected (angry red or oozing) it should go away by itself.
Just keep an eye on it.

This is actually quite common. The body is reacting to the foreign material that is in the body (internal stitches). Keep an eye on it but it should go away on its own.

Ok, phew!!!! I was freaking out! It's not red or anything. Actually he's healing up great! I've even been able to keep the tube off of him! I'll see if I can get a pic later! It also doesn't seem to bother him when I touched it to see if it was hard or squishy

When I checked it today a few times, it looked like it had gotten smaller.

Yikes!! I'd of panicked too. Glad to hear that it's getting smaller. Just continue to keep an eye on it. Hope it's all gone soon.
