Default Shirts....?!

So living in southwestern Pa, it's crazy weather here... On day was in the 30's and a few snow flurries the next it was 50's and sunny....well, Wyatt loves sitting next to the one furnace register after being outside, I swear both dogs plan potty breaks around when the heat is about to kick on! Wyatt hates being under covers but I thought he might like a shirt. Penny had always worn clothes from bathing suits winter coats and its hard to find shirts to fit her nice bc of her shape. I know some of you have posted about shirts and hoodies and coats. I was just curious what size do you all get? Wyatt is 50 lbs, 7 months old. He has a harness that's at it's smallest right now... I think 21-23 inches is the smallest but can't remember for sure. Anyways... Didn't know if you all had a "brand" that fit boxers better bc of their large chest/rib cage. I'll prob just get it a petco/petsmart. I read a thread last night about making them... I do have a sewing machine and do know how to crochet!!!! Thanks guys & dolls :-)

I'm still a huge fan of JJ Boxer Dog Jackets and you can type that into Facebook search and it'll take you right to her page. Her coats are made specifically with the large boxer chest in mind and they are so well made that they even hold up to my brat pack. She makes and sells winter and rain coats but they aren't so heavy that they'd be too hot in 50 degree weather.

Sarge, the foster we have right now, just got his new coat in the mail the other day and he really seems to love it. I'm fairly certain he's never really lived in a house and probably has never had a coat of his own either. However, we went back to cooler weather here a few days ago and since his coat arrived, he'll stick his nose out the door and if it feels chilly or wet, he won't go unless I put his coat on. Then once his coat is dawned, he prances around excitedly and out the door he goes.

The coats are so easy to put on, just slide it over the head and then wrap the Velcro straps under the belly and you're done. Easy breezy!

We had one for SuzyQ and she loved wearing it, she didn't like cold at all. It was like a horse blanket - it fit around her shoulders and had velcro straps around her neck and then velcro straps under her chest and tummy. But it wasn't designed for a boxer specifically and she was a big girl - 75 lbs, I had to get an XL to cover her chest and then the tummy was way too big, but I just strapped them as far as they would go and it was fine. I got it at Petsmart on sale and it was pretty reasonable. It was weather proof and had reflectors on it and then was lined with heavy flannel. Actually if you know how to sew, it wouldn't be hard to make one at all, the pieces would be simple to cut out and that way you could customize it fit perfectly. I'd check some out at the pet stores and I bet you could whip one up easily.

Ha ha ha!!! Thanks! Prob get a jersey knit material so it will stretch a little. Yes, I am the type of person to inspect things and figure out how to make them! I'll see if I can find him a cheap one and try to replicate it but make it actually for him:-) thanks guys!

Okay so my comment has nothing to do with an answer here but every time I see this thread I see something other than the word "shirts". LOL
