Hi there,
Thanks so much responding to my rant.....I really came across as more worried about $$ which is not the case at all. It's just that for xray and labs, it was almost $700...and it frightened me that I may not to be able to afford more intensive treatment if necessary.
She's thin as a rail, seems to be still feeling bad- Bowel is pretty normal, no throwing up, no hunching....She started drinking water again yesterday, so I'm giving her many small meals throughout the day. I was trying to think of other things I can give her to help fatten her without fat.
I will get the enzymes as soon as I can get out (big snow here tonight)
Thanks again...
My name is Tommy, by the way.
Hi roccosmom. So sorry that rocco is still sick. Per the ELISA, gracie still had giardia. She had been carrying it for months undetected since it is hard to detect. That's why it was recurring every month. She was on flagyl and panacur this last time and we will retest in 2 more wks.she's better but still soft cowpies here and there. Giardiasis is tricky one. Sometimes cysts do not show up for wks.
I totally feel your frustration as i was at a lost as to what was causing gracie's illness.
Hope we get answers for rocco today. We thought gracie possibly had colitis as well.
Keep me posted and hugs to rocco ok?
It's not cheap but it make a loud hissing noise totally startling the dog. I thought you might be interested. It might work during your walks to break the focus of your dog. Good luck!
