Ah, Duke sounds like a lover for sure That's a rough experience you had with the 2 female boxers and I agree with you, I admire those that have the patience and talent to overcome the most severe issues when adopting an abused dog of any breed. We were lucky that our Boxer mix Wrigley was found and we adopted him at 2 months old. I'm not really sure the situation he was in but I don't think it was a good one. We have also rescued a Chow Chow and she is the sweetest thing in the world. She was severely abused though and left for dead. Thankfully the rescue agency got her back to health but nobody wanted to adopted a 6 month old Chow Chow that had been abused, we were lucky though as we put her in training and she is the most mellow and loving dog ever. It's great to meet you and look forward to chatting more! Take care and have a fabulous day! xo
Thanks so much! Duke is the laid back one out of the three, believe it or not! He's very quiet, submissive and sweet. We don't think we'll ever get another boxer, because we can't find another sweet one like him. We really lucked out with him. We've tried rescuing 2 other female boxers who had been abused (not at the same time), but they were so mentally damaged, that we couldn't handle their issues and we had to return them. I'm not too proud to know when something's beyond my ability to handle. I admire those who have the patience and talent to overcome severe (and I mean SEVERE) issues when they adopt an abused boxer.
