can someone explain this to me??

why does red hump his cat bed? why does he prefer to have something in his mouth when he does so?? why does it have to be my laundry???

several times a day, every day!. i wish i had his stamina.

ahhhhh,, how old is he,,, it could very well be his anal glands and it hurts so biting something helps with the pain,,, and rubbing his but helps make his anal glands feel better.. my marmalade cat did it a lot when he was younger,,,,I thought he was getting off on it and it was that.... your vet has to clean it out....or scoop him up like I did lucky the other day and scare the anal juices right out of him,,, smells so bad..

Humm.. I have cats all my life. Right now we have 3 of them. I have never seen them hump anything. Is it a kitten or young cat thing? All our cats are rescues and we have no idea how old they are.

he's going on 10 yeas. he's never done it before untill a few years ago when we bought these beds at walgreens.
we weren't sure what was going on at first, but i picked him up, i always hold him on his back in my arms, well, his little tally whacker was poking out and there were tracks on the bed

. he was purring quite loudly, which he never does any other time.

anyway, i've asked this same question on other pet forums and nobody can offer an answer.

is he neutered and if you look at his anus there are two glands on either side of his hole,, they get plugged up and can hurt.. My eleven year old orange tabby does the same thing and it really looks like they are enjoying it and if he is not fixed maybe he is..lol.. he wont tell you... but just check his back end.. when mine do it I know its those glands... you could ask your vet,,

I don't know about cats, but you can express a dogs anal glands on your own .. so maybe you can do that with your cat and see if it helps.

Uugh, that smell is HORRIBLE.

yes it is gross but cats can be nasty little buggers about it though so if you try wear gloves and wrap up kitty in old towel to protect your self... easier at vets since they know what they are doing,,, they will show you how to do it your self if you ask them too

He's still at it. I would have thought he would have gotten tired of it by now. We have to be quick when we put away the laundry. I'll dump the clothes on the bed and he'll immediately grab one of my socks, drag it across the bed and precede to hump his cat bed. It's still the only time he purs.
