Its a pup...I dont see why it could be a mix but a pure boxer.

Either way,he's yours for the long run,the colors and body for his age meets the breed, head and snout,we cant really say anything as some are different and change a lot as they grow up.

I would have taken him too!

I would of guessed her a boxer pup..alot of boxer pups have a tad longer snout...they just grow into it later...she sure is a cutie...can't wait to see pics of her when she's older...oh...can't you get a dna test done on her to see what you're dealing with??

What a cutie! She looks like she has a little hound in her, to me.

We got our German Wirehaired Pointer basically the same way, except se was around 1 1/2 at the time. My daughter found her running through 4 lanes of traffic. She opened her car door, and in popped the dog.

Since my daughter's dogs were geriatric and a bit senile at the time he vet kept the GWP for 7 to 10 days while we tried to find her owner. My daughter posted signs all over the area where she found her, left information will all the vets in the area, and we posted her on petfinder.com a couple of other lost/ound dog websites.

Only one person tried to claim her, but had NOTHING to prove she was her dog; no vet records, pictures, etc., nothing. I had been networking with the GWP rescue and other rescue groups and they all told me not to give the dog to anyone unlessl they could show some sort of proof of ownership. The breed is rare in Texas, so it seemed logical that if this person really owned the dog she would have papers on her, or something.

I brought her home when no one claimed her, although two of the vet techs really wanted to take her. She is a great dog, and is great with other animals.

At this point, I'm saying their loss! No collar, no chip??? Maybe she "fell" into your hands for a reason. Good luck and can't wait to see more pics!

And now after looking again, maybe it's an illusion of a longer snout since she doesn't have a full mask but just black snout.

She looks all boxer to me too... but I am no expert... They all look different to me when they are pups... some shorter... some longer.
In some of Rocky's pictures it appears that he has a longer snout due to his uneven but cute white stripe (I think this is why). I love him no matter how smushed his face is or is not. Either way she looks like she found a good home

She's a hilarious puppy. when I get home from work to free her from the room she's in, she literally screams at me as we go towards the backyard. then she sits and stares up at me barking angrily for a couple minutes, it's hilarious. (She has puppy pads and room to roam, so it's not that she;s mad about holding it)

Thanks all for the breed feedback. To be honest i ask about the breed b/c my other dog is small (shown in the one of the pics above). She was also a stray but we found her in rough shape with a horrbile case of demodex and malnutrition. She's healthy and happy as can be now and i won't put her at risk with a bigger aggressive dog. They play fine now but Heidi will be a big girl really soon and if there's pit in her, it makes me nervous.

I know there's a lot of misconceptions about the breed (pit bulls) but i'm not willing to risk Hannah (my other dog) on my first experience w that breed. SO, hopefully Heidi is all boxer and will be a sweet girl as she grows. I will be begin training very soon and if i'm not effective she'll be going to a pro trainer....

My last dog was a Pitty mix and the best dog I have ever had. He loved big dogs, little dogs and was super patient, not an aggressive bone in his body. It is all about how you socialize them and train them. Any breed of dog can be a nightmare some are just stronger than others, breed has nothing to do with temperment it is the owner who causes the issues. I have also owned a pure bred pibull and he was also amazing, had so much love to give it was incredible! Don't judge a book by its cover!! They are sweethearts in big bear suits with hearts of gold. Unfortunately they are banned in Ottawa, Ontario due to bad owners so now I am involved with boxers. I transitioned over to boxers because they had similar personality traits, lots of character, loyal, funny and super loving and affectionate.

Rocky goes to his 1st puppy class tomorrow night..We are taking him for socialization with other people and dogs. He is very smart and a fast learner.. He knows sit, laydown, shake, and crawl already. He is only 14 weeks but I want him to be very socialized with other people and dogs when it comes to public situations. He will be going places with me this summer and I want to make sure he is taught manners.

Boxers are a more bully breed from what I have been told (correct me if I am wrong) I have read that they will try to take charge if given the chance. I gave the dogs raw bones yesterday and Rocky actually went after my small YorkiePoo (he did not hurt her or bite her, it was more vocal) because she had a bone he wanted.. But I immediately scolded him and removed him and put him on a timeout. I think it all depends on how a dog is raised. I think you will be fine with her as long as you correct any small issues you may have along the way...if any

Kudos to you for taking her in! She looks like a sweetheart!
