Smile When should I introduce my male to his pups?

Hello to all! New to the forum! My Boxer Roxy, shes 3 years old just had her pups yesterday. She was in labor for about 9 hours, and gave birth to 8 beautiful girls! Thats right, all GIRLS!!! Well, we have the father that we have been keeping outside but he is so anxious to come in, he stands outside by the window where Roxy sleeps whimpering. Between the 4th and 5th pup we brung him in to see what was going on and he got a little too close to the pups and Roxy snapped at him. Now, my concern is Im afraid he will go into depression not having her outside with him, their like best buds! What should we do to make him apart of their lives too? On top of Roxy and Chico producing 8 pups, we also own 2 Yorkies and a Chihuahua! As you can tell we have a full house ....

So are there any ideas,Im open for anything!

Thanks!!!

I would wait till after she has gave birth to all of them and had a little time to nurse. Make sure to not let him to close though shes gonna be protective for a while. A good thing to use would be one of those exercise pens that way he cant get in.

In my experience, most females don't like the male to get anywhere near the puppies, by letting him near the puppies you will only be stressing out your female, which in my opinion is much worse than the male not seeing his puppies, the female has to take care of the pups constantly for the first 4 or 5 weeks and she is stressed out enough without having to worry that the male will harm the pups, i would try introducing the male to the pups after they turn 6 weeks old but you better watch your female as they are known to want to protect their puppies.

Thank you for your responses. Roxy is a very mellow dog, she has her own room, thats right ROOM in our home, she is at ease all day to help out with the pups we even bought them a warming pad so Roxy as well as the pups can sleep comfortably. We will keep Chico away for the 6 weeks as needed, as far as her stress levels she has been taken to the vet twice since labor and the vet says all her tests came back with great results.
