Just make sure you get the Diamond Naturals, and not just plain Diamond. There is a huge difference in quality.
Thanks.. this helps a lot - Wish I could find that deal here!

Samples are great to see what the puppy will eat, no need to "transition" with samples. Some dogs hate fish and will not eat a bite. Other dogs will eat anything.

Both Blue and TOTW are also good premiums, so if your not sold on TOTW why not see how your pup will do on Blue?
Blue is entirely too expensive for our budget... TOTW is cutting it reeeeeaaally close.
I wasn't sold because I wasn't sure if less grain ( like in totw ) would produce loose stool. I don't want less firm.

We have been on TOTW for almost 2 years, tried different brands here and there but always gone back to it. Its the only food that gave our boxers firm stool. Grain free really is best IMO. Dogs don't need grain. Two of ours are also allergic to corn and chicken, so the pacific stream is best for them.

Do you have other dogs?

TOTW lasts us a week with 4 adult boxers, fed twice a day, about 4 cups a day. I imagine with only one boxer, that would last close to a month? So $42 isn't too bad.

Well so far it looks like TOTW might be our new brand. So far it's the only one that I have found in a local mom & pop shop.. Some of my other choices are sold in areas out of the way

Were I live Royal Canin runs over $60 for the large bag, not worth it in my opinion.

My brand of choice is TOTW, My dogs did AMAZING on it including my Boxer who suffered all sorts of allergies. By amazing I mean my guys all had coats that light would just bounce off of they were so shiny and soft, shed alot less, didnt smell so 'doggy',firmer stools less often, etc....I could just go on about how much we love TOTW but currently my boys have all been switched to Chicken Soup because we are military and moving oversea's and Chicken Soup is the best alternative we have there otherwise its Alpo/kibbles n bits kinda stuff. Our cat will however remain on TOTW Feline formula because of her allergies and sensitive stomach so we plan on just ordering her stuff through pet food direct online. I'd order my dogs food too if it wasnt so expensive to ship (would cost us about 300 a month to feed our dogs if we ordered it)....But really IMO Taste of the Wild has been wonderful, and my boys are doing fine on the chicken soup too and as long as they are healthy and happy that is all that matters to me.

Do you have a CostCo near you? Their brand of dog food (Kirkland) always ranks really well and it's about half the price of other good foods. And if you don't have a membership you can get one for just $50/year which may be worth it for a family of 8

I personally feed TOTW pacific stream. $42 for a 30lb bag at a feed store in Farmers Branch, $36 at a feed store by my parent's house in Oklahoma (so they always bring me a bag when they come visit).
