Moxie is 6 months old and still needs to be let out during the day to pee every hout. Is this normal for a puppy her age? Shouldn't she be able to hold it a little longer now? She does cue me when she has to go out which is great but today I let her out to potty and she peed then I fed her when she came in and about 20 minutes later had to poop so she went out again. Then she peed on the floor in the house about 30 minutes after that. She didn't drink a lot of water in that time. She did cue me but I had to quick attend to my baby and was gone for litterally 2 minutes. She never potties in her crate. Even when I'm gone during the day for more than 3 or 4 hours.
How do I train her to have more bladder control when she's out with the family?

Something seems off to me. At that age she should be able to hold it for 6 hours according to the 1 hour per month (up to about 8 hours) rule. My 9 week old regularly goes for 2 hours easy when he's awake, in between mealtimes (which usually trigger a poo as they should), and even longer if he's been sleeping.

Maybe you should have a urine sample checked. Sounds like she could possibly have a urinary tract infection, in which case, she can't really help the accidents.

I agree, maybe a urine test at the vets office to rule out a UTI. Murphy is almost 4 months & she can go 3 hours or longer holding it with no problems. Wish you the best.

I considered uti but she doesn't have any other symptoms, like I said- she holds it while she's in her crate just fine.... I will take her in to be sure. Thank you for the feedback, sorry it was a bit hard to read. It is difficult to write out on my cell phone. Lol
