I'm so excited , the 4 weeks have gone by so slow by the day is finally here, we will be picking up our puppy boxer tomorrow. If there are any tips or pointers yall could give me about bringing home a new puppy and what to expect in the first couple of days i would greatly appreciate it. She will be 7 and half weeks old.

Congratulations...that is very exciting!
What to expect: - possibly quiet and reserved on day one/night one - not loving the crate - crying/shrieking/whimpering (can be improved with training) - peeing/pooping in the house - take the pup out after they play, eat, drink, sleep, and every half hour or so otherwise. - to avoid the pup going to the bathroom where they shouldn't, we barricaded ours in the same room as we were in so that we could keep an eye on them. - lots of praise and pleasant voice when they do a good job (i.e. go to the bathroom outside, etc.) In the next few weeks you'll be able to work on more training like, "sit", walking on a leash, etc.. Good luck! Keep us posted! |

Bring a towel or blanket and rub it all over the mom and littermates if your breeder doesnt provide you with one. My breeder did and it helped a lot, especially with crate training.

She is so great, she slept in my lap the whole hour and a half drive back home. The only issue was she kept passing gas lol but other than that she has been doing great. She went pee and poop after the ride before we took her upstairs. The only weird thing was that her poop had something that looked like spaghetti in it but i assumed since she just got dewormed this morning that the spaghetti stuff might just mean her dewormig was working. Totally forgot the breeders puppy food they had been feeding her when we left but it wasnt that good of food anyways. She has been eating the new BB freedom food i got her. Let me know if you have anymore advice.
