Thank you for all the input provided in the other posts about the loss of my Lilly, and adopting a new pup. After all is said and done I decided that its time to give another Boxer a home, while always remembering and honoring the joy, love and companionship that Lilly gave me.
Meet Gracie (I named her), just over two weeks old. She will be ready at the end of Feb. I decided that I would adopt a brindle, since Lilly was my fawn angel.
I am also researching pet insurance, and there will be x'rays and many tests run the day of adoption to confirm health.

I went the unconventional route and adopted from a family that had a litter. I asked questions to make sure they are not a mill. I understand I am taking a risk, but this baby needs love and a home, and I welcome her with open arms, especially since I work from home right now and can give her lots of love and training. We are actually considering a playmate for her, and with that I will go on a breeder waiting list. It's too bad that we live so far away from Boxer Rescue boundaries, as I would have gladly taken one in from there.
I'm very excited, but still will burst into tears when Lilly enters my mind (which is constantly). But I am going to keep myself busy with my job of course, but also researching and brushing up on crate training, proper puppy non-grain foods and separation anxiety solutions. I also need to do a major inspection of the house and yard to make sure it is puppy safe.... wires/plugs seemed to be something Lilly liked as a pup, so I need to conceal them all. So much to prepare for!
