so i recently got a boxer puppy this past friday. i guess it was either one of my friends neighbors or friends that had them well first she was told that they were 6 weeks old then the next day she was told they were 5 weeks almost 6 weeks. well either way we were also told and my friend was there when they found the mother of my puppy dead so there wasnt really much they could do about keeping him with mom any longer. but our concern is that Trigger (my puppy) is no where near even 5 weeks we are thinking maybe 3 weeks. he is maybe 2lbs is very unsteady when he walks is very whiny like a small puppy normally is and is always looking for constant contact which i dont mind since i have 2 children im always having someone wanting to on me lol. he will eat puppy food if it is very moist and goes crazy for puppy milk which we just put in a bowl cause the bottle we got is more like a cat bottle then a puppy bottle. but we give him milk about 3 to 4 times a day and also put alittle in his puppy food along with water to moisten it. my sister in law got a chocolate lab puppy that is 8 weeks old and Trigger looks so tiny compared to her. i have never had or seen a boxer puppy before all the boxers i have seen have been full grown. so basicly im asking if anyone could please give some input on how old they think he may be that would be great. we have an appt set up for him tomarrow afternoon with the vet to have him looked over to make sure he is in good health and get an idea from the vet on age.

can you post some pics? I am glad to hear you are going to the vet tomorrow, as the pup may still need to be put on a special formula for babies. I believe the special nutrients they get from their mom up to about 7 weeks is very important.

I'm no expert, since I've never bred my dogs or had a pup this young but if he IS 3 weeks old, I'm thinking he may need to eat every 2-3 hours & probably fed a couple of tines during the night as well (???). Puppy formula(milk) is a must. I'm sure there are more experienced people on here with better advice. Good luck to you both.

Any pictures? I'm sorry that happened to you. I don't really have much advice.

Gosh, Trigger looks about 3 to 4 weeks old, but I am also no expert. I'm just comparing how he looks to videos on youtube of boxers around that age. Take a look on youtube and search by the different weeks old to see their looks and movements. Glad to hear you are saving a pup.
