what is a good age to start leash training a puppy? also what is better a regular collar or a harness? my cousin who has also has a boxer says that im going to want to use a harness because its easier to control the dog when they start pulling while on the leash?

Immediately when you get the puppy (assuming 10-12 weeks). I highly recommend a harness. Puppies necks are so small and they are so prone to run to the end of the leash until they learn to loose leash walk. I still keep Maggie on an Easy Walk harness because it helps prevent pulling.

thanks. do either of you know of a good not too expensive brand that has blaze orange (hunter's orange) harnesses? we live in the country and we dont want him to accidently get shot at during hunting season while out on a walk.

What is a freedom no pull harness. Is it different than the easy walk? We just started on the easy walk.

You don't necessarily have to get the name brand "no pull" harness. Get the "H" harness, the kind that buckles around them and has the normal D ring on top but also the round ring on the chest that the shoulder and chest straps connect to. You can clip the leash to that front ring and get the same kind of effect. Stopped Bruno from pulling instantly.
