Leaving a radio on

The countdown is nearing it's end and I pick up my puppy this next Friday morning. I have been reading through everything and one thing I noticed is alot of people recommend leaving a radio on for the dog when you are away. However I don't think anyone ever mentions really what they leave it on. Would you recommend something with soft quiet music or should I be thinking more along the lines of talk radio so the puppy hears human voices. Any input would be appreciated thanks.

I dont think it matters, its just for background noise.

I don't think it really matters. My mom used to leave the radio on for our dog when I lived at home. I tried it with Murphy as she HATED going in her kennel at night or when we'd go someplace & it didn't do anything for her.

I play npr. They rarely have anything violent or scary.
No gun fire or sounds of people being harmed.

On clickertraining.com they have several CDs available. They're classical music. They play them in shelters to help the dogs calm down

Wyatt only listens to country. It's what was playing when we brought him home... If I change the station it's the only time he barks! So I change it back and he's good

We leave the tv on very low for the girls when we crate them to go out. Whatever channel is on at the time, usually the food network. Good thing it's not smell-a-vison!!!
