R.I.P Bandit

I just got a message from my co-worker that my employers little kitty Bandit passed away. He was still just a baby; only 6 years old. He was suffering from polycystic kidney syndrome, which apparently is a hereditary disease common in Himalayan kitties.

Bandit was a pretty special guy. She took him on about 5 years ago, when he started having neurological problems. His original owner couldn't stand seeing him tipping over, so she wanted us to euthanize him. But he was such a sweet, friendly kitty that we just couldn't do it. Since he was so unsteady on his feet, Dr. Garrett elected to keep him...she didn't trust him to anybody else.

He couldn't eat well on his own, because he had no depth perception; he would tip over onto his face into the food. So she would hold him in her lap, put a little baby bib on him and spoon feed him. She did this every day 3 times a day for 5 years.

He was just the best boy. He was so sweet, always purring and friendly. Bandit had no enemies. We all loved him so much. We're all going to miss him.

Good bye, little guy, your mommas are all going to miss you...be sure to snuggle up to Charlie and tell him his mommy loves him.

Thank you guys...you know, that's why I love this place. The BF peeps are so kind and understanding....Bandit would have loved you all.

He was the silliest little thing. When he wanted to be held (which was most of the time) he would walk up to us and pat our legs. Then when you picked him up, he would roll over on his back, so that he could get his tummy rubbed. I loved that goofy little cat.

Oh that is so sad. I completely understand your grief and your friend's. I hope little Bandit is now comfy and with all the other furbabies at the Bridge. RIP little furry friend.
