Dedicated to proper carnivore nutrition - Prey Model Raw Feeding for Dogs & Cats or any google search for the same Prey Model Raw. The thing with feeding a Raw diet is that it must be done properly. You must allow for the detox phase and not jump back into kibble because you have your doubts.
www.rawfed.com or http://www.dogster.com/forums/Raw_Food_Diet are other sources of information

this raw diet saved my Bella's life.. it helped her so much but as suggested you have to be committed and not quit.. and all her suggestions have worked with out fail,,, I am very thankful for the great info on here.. but you have to be willing to listen and have an open mind... at least that has helped me

This raw diet seems really neat and I might consider feeding Sergeant like this once I stock up. Considering how humans cannot eat raw meat for fear of diseases, I'm going to go ahead and assume that this isn't a problem for my baby boy?

I just started it yesterday with a 8week pup, I will admit I was a lot nervous, but with the guidance I received here (Thanks Kari) I took that step and don't regret it!! He loves it, and though I never thought I would brag on dog poop, it's nothing but little nuggets!!

I need some advice on this raw diet if anyone can please help me. We have a 1 year old girl and have had her now for 5 weeks. The previous owner fed her low grade kibble and a bone every now and again. Of course I thought this wasnt good enough so gradually changed her over to a premium kibble... and introduced a few chicken necks with her meals. Now the last few days before I stopped the kibble to go completely raw (100% raw starting 4 days ago) she has had diarreoa (sp?)
Id like to stick with this for at least a week, but Im concerned about the diarreoa. Could it have been the change over in the kibble then straight to raw that has started it?? Please help.. I want whats best for my girl and really want this to work ETA the diarreoa has been going on for a week now |

You need to fast her for 24 hrs and only offer her chicken broth instead of water. We need to settle her digestive tract and essentially flush out all the poop. Then follow this guide. Do no rush things or skip any steps. If you have any questions or concerns, just start a new thread and I will address them there
