I switched Abby to raw Monday night and have already noticed two really obvious changes in her that I wanted to share.
She has a clip on bowl of water in her crate which prior to the switch she would drink more than 3/4 of it every day. Since the switch I've gone home and she didn't even drink 1/4 of it! She gets a Kong with some frozen peanut butter in it every day so I assumed she was drinking a lot because of the pb. Now I'm thinking it had more to do with the kibble being so dry. Before the switch she was pooping a LOT. By a LOT I mean just about every trip outside she was going and they were fairly large piles. Since the switch she only went three times yesterday and they were much smaller! As I explained to my mother, this is one of the benefits of raw. The smaller the poops, the more nutrients the body is using and processing out of the diet. I'm really looking forward to seeing more changes with her as time goes on. So far it's definitely agreeing with her.

One thing I am noticing with Duke is that he has very stinky ears! There is quite a bit of wax in there and I haven't exactly been diligent about cleaning it. I read somewhere that the raw diet will help with this as well as the "doggy smell". Have you noticed any changes with that?

Since switching Rex to raw and adding in Coconut oil his ears are less waxy, less irritation and never smell... Only smell he has is his regular scent.

I switched my dogs to raw almost 2 wks ago now! Wow time flies! I have also noticed they don't drink as much. I have noticed Nikki's coat is like silk! I can't stop cuddling her! She was a suck before she's going to be my big huge suck before long. I'm forever picking her up to cuddle! Yes she is a lapdog and I don't care how big she gets! Lol

Susy, I've never really noticed an ear odor on any my boxers. Riley's used to get pretty waxy though, but they never smelled badly. He LOVED getting his ears cleaned. He liked the massage.
