Talking Let the Savings Begin!!

I can't believe how excited I am right now over chicken and turkey! LOL

I FINALLY found a place to order chicken and turkey from in bulk qtys at a good price, or at least a good price to me. They only require 24 hours notice for bulk orders so as soon as my freezer's here and set up guess who I'll be calling!!

They offer turkey necks at $.70lb for a 30lb box. So that comes out to $21.00 a box. The necks come frozen, is that the norm?

The whole chicken legs are $.68-$.70lb for a 40lb box so it would be $27.20-$28.00 per box. Through my supermarket I'm paying $1.09lb! So on chicken legs alone I'll now be saving $15.60! AND now that I'll be rotating chicken and turkey I should be able to stretch this out over at least 2-3 months if not longer!

These are the best prices I've found so far. I am still waiting on a few return calls so I may end up with an even better deal when all's said and done. Do these prices pretty much line up with what you pay?

O-M-G!

I would die for those prices!!! Way to go Mandy and yes Cases of Turkey necks always come frozen. I put it in a large rubbermaid container and as it thaws I pull the necks apart and repackage into ziplock bags and refreeze.

Those are good deals!!

Remember, you don't have to buy the expensive ziplock bags! The cheapies do fine. I dont use them personally as it makes it a bit more costly. I am fortunate that i can get un-used bread bags and throw all my meats in those..
