Hi guys, this is my first post and I joined this forum just cause this thread. I've been lurking this forum and another boxer forum for a couple months now. Just found out about raw a couple weeks back and since I've been giving my girl little taste of it to see how she does until her food runs out. Last week it was beef chunks and this week I have been giving her one drum stick a day. With bone and skin, I saw you guys were saying to take off the skin? Why is this? My 10 month girl loves the skin and bone.
Also I'm wondering what are the best most cost effective way of feeding raw? Would the pre made patties be best? Or buying everything at the grocery store seperstly? And are you guys just feeding meat? What about everything else? I was going to follow this and try to feed her about two cups total of everything together.

Every morning we start out with a chicken leg or a turkey neck. I alternate every day so they don't get either twice in a row. Just my way of mixing it up I guess. Sometimes I'll add extra chicken/turkey meat if the bone in pieces are on the smaller side. Their nightly meal varies on what I have. They either get chicken, turkey, lamb, beef, pork, or fish - most of the time it's a mix of two or more. I also give them coconut oil with each dinner meal. I'll be placing an order for next weekend which if I calculated it correctly should last us a month. I have each day planned and will be marking the bags accordingly. In figuring it out, I chose to add a little bit of variety per meal instead of doing one big meal per protein. I don't know why, I just did. LOL Here's a rough idea of what I'm thinking of doing: SUNDAY: Lamb and Pork MONDAY Beef, organ meat, and a raw egg for Logan... Chicken, organ meat, and a raw egg for Abby. If Abby turns out to be not allergic to beef the next time I experiment with it, we'll go with beef instead. TUESDAY: Rabbit and Turkey WEDNESDAY: Lamb and organ meat THURSDAY: Pork and Beef for Logan and Pork and Chicken for Abby (again will switch to beef if she's not allergic) FRIDAY: Fish and organ meat SATURDAY: Rabbit and Turkey Regarding the notes about Abby being allergic to beef, if she is allergic I'll most likely end up switching the chicken to goat once we add that into the rotation. Logan gets roughly 1.5lb per day. Sometimes more or less and that's also true for Abby who gets roughly 1.3lb per day.

I was buying my boneless meats at my grocery store, but it was getting very pricey so I started looking for a raw food supplier. The prices are much better, but it would be difficult to buy without having a freezer for just their food. I'm looking to place my first order next week! My bone in meals I get from an actual poultry supplier. Again, you have to buy in bulk. I just picked up an order today of 40lb chicken legs and 30lb turkey necks. The legs took about 20 minutes to seperate. The necks come frozen and are still thawing out. Some people will also get meats off of places like Craigs list so if you're comfortable with that you can go that route too. A lot of people score pretty big by getting large amounts of meats for next to nothing or even free sometimes! I choose not to feed veggies, but some people do feed it. That's something you'll need to research and decide on for yourself.
