Finally Decent Bulk Meat Prices..

Well i think i may have found a Meat supplier for bulk chicken & turkey.

A butcher I found here will sell me the items below:

Chicken Backs & Necks = 44lb box for $40 ($0.91/lb)
Chicken Legs Back Attached = 40lb for $2.5/lb little high
Chicken Liver/Hearts/Gizzards - $2.00/lb
Turkey Necks 22lb box for $40 ($1.82/lb)

I can't seem to find any cheaper around Calgary this is the best i've found so far... and i have to drive about 20km outside the city to get it...I could save like $1.5 for 22 lb box of Turkey necks elsewhere but for the drive i may as well spend the extra 1.50 and save my gas plus time driving.

Awesome! I found my supplier of chicken legs and turkey necks last week. This week my goal is to find a beef, lamb, organ, etc supplier. I think the place I found the chicken and turkey in also does other meats (found out after the fact) so I'll be calling them back to confirm and get some prices.

dawnybabe - do you live close to a major city? I don't know if they have these on the West coast, but here we have a chain of Chinese supermarkets that sell meat at very good prices! Do you have a "chinatown" nearby? If so you should go and check it out

Oooh. I live in Calgary BIG city and i am about 15 mins from a HUGE Chinatown market now that you mention it.. I'll have to check it out.

dawnybabe - yes you can buy all kinds of neat treats for them there like pigs feet and ears, cow tongue and various other internal organs! hehehe

I know Mandy... I just have to convince hubby! lol
