Meat prices

I'm looking through the flyers this week and the cheapest I could find is $1.99 a pound for chicken thighs or drumsticks. Is that cheap? I've never really priced meat before. That is $1.50 savings! It didn't seem that cheap to me.

If you are in Ontario then yes, thats a deal

I saw Foodland had chicken legs and pork shoulders on for $1.47lb this week, Sobeys had whole chickens and whole ducks on for $1.99 and Valumart had pork ribs on for $1.29.

Where are you located? Here in NH (or in the northeast actually) we have a place that I just discovered called Poultry Products and I got great prices! The turkey necks were .70lb and the chicken legs were .68lb (I think I got those right... lol). Try Googling poultry suppliers near your area and see if anything else comes up.

You can go to Maple Lodge Farms | Quality Chicken Products featuring High Pressure Protection | Toronto, Ontario, Canada and purchase product by the case to save on costs. Its to far away for me but is in your neck of the woods.

Just note that there are 2 sections where you can buy from - the Maple Lodge store and direct from the factory outlet. The store has fresh and frozen chicken but the factory outlet only sells frozen chicken products by the case. If you go into the store they can direct you on how to buy from the outlet.
