Tonight I spotted lamb at the grocery store with the lovely yellow reduced price sticker on it. It was still expensive ($6.99lb), but I've been itching to get Logan some lamb for a long time now so I said the heck with and grabbed the only two packages they had on the shelf. I gave him 3oz tonight with the rest of his meal. Hopefully he'll do well with it so we can have 5 proteins to rotate!

"Happy dance for Logan"
Have you tried fish yet? Karma likes sardines. I was able to find some frozen ones for a reasonable price. I paid $4 for a dozen. Its another option for yet another protein... Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |

He's had canned sardines before with no problem. Would those be ok to feed? Not sure if those are really raw or not. The place I'm planning on starting to order bulk items from carries fish too. I'll give it a try. I'm also planning on trying rabbit and goat with him (and eventually Abby too).

Yuummm lamb!! Rocky LOVES lamb! Some cuts are way more expensive than others at the store. I noticed lamb sirloin was about $2.99 a lb last week (maybe they made a mistake? lol) . But a certain cut of lamb leg is WAY more than that..Heading out to the store this AM to see if they have any mark downs.. so I'll grab some prices to compare

He seemed a little bit off yesterday morning. He didn't get sick, but he wasn't as chipper as he normally is. He also ate a bit of grass. He ate his breakfast no problem. I'm not sure if it was the lamb or something else so I didn't give him any more yesterday. I'll give him a few ounces again tonight and see how he does.

I think you can feed canned sardines. The first time i fed them to Karma they were canned. I would only do the sardines in water if you do. Its a bit more expensive, for me anyways to do canned. A can of them is about $1.25 so the dozen i got for $4 was a much better deal.
