Default Sudden Horrible Gas!

So raw feeding has been going well, but all of a sudden we're dealing with some god awful gas! I woke up at a little past 1am this morning and my room smelled so bad that my stomach was actually turning. In going over in my head what may be causing it, the only things I can think of are the meats and coconut oil. The meats themselves haven't changed (they're getting pork, beef, lamb, turkey, chicken, fish, and rabbit), but the source of where I'm getting it has. I was buying it all at my supermarket, but I just recently got it through Top Quality Dog Food. Could that explain it? That's the only thing that's changed other than the brand of coconut oil I've been feeding them.

Boxer bombs!!! I would try going back to the supermarket meats and see. Hate to say, but maybe TQDF adds something to the meat?? A preservative or something possibly. After hearing about the pink slime they have been adding to the meets for us to eat I have a hard time trusting any company... So happy I don't eat red meat anyway lol

Hmmm, how long have you been offering the coconut oil? Cut it out entirely and give it a few days to see if there is any improvement. If not, then what meat did you feed last night. Remove it for a week and see if things get better, then slowly add it back in.

We are having gas issues here too! My girls were getting pre-made PMR blocks from a local company and I have now switched to butcher/market meats instead and WOW...major smells going on here. Im hoping it's just the transition phase.

I think I accidentally figured out what was causing it over the weekend, just never updated this thread. I was giving them their Kongs with peanut butter in it, but I was giving them more than I usually do (in an attempt to keep them both calm inside since Abby was recovering from her spay). They got no peanut butter over the weekend and there was no gas! We're back to the normal amount now and so far so good.

Default Sudden Horrible Gas!

Ya that'll do it. I found out that any amount of PB gives Karma nasty gas. Only had to feed it once to find out.

Have you fed tripe yet? If not, wait for those farts!!!! Lolololololololol
