Default Abby Keeps Getting Sick

Abby's had a rough few days. Everything was fine until Sunday night when she threw up her supper a couple of hours after eating. She then got sick two more times that night. The last was white foam. Yesterday morning she was better and ate her breakfast. Throughout the day she did fine and was acting as normal, but her stool was loose. Today she was slow to eat her breakfast, but eventually she did eat. During my lunch hour she was fine and playful, but she had a very loose and watery stool. Tonight she ate her supper, but threw it all up a little while ago.

I have no idea what’s going on, but it’s starting to freak me out. Nothing in her diet has changed aside from not having coconut oil because I ran out and haven’t been able to get more yet. I did take her crate down where she’s used to being fed, but I don’t think that would cause these issues, do you? I put her crate back up tonight because I can see feels more secure eating in it so I’ll keep it up for her.

I’m going to email the co-op next to see if they changed suppliers or something. Aside from that I don’t know where to go. Maybe a trip to the vets is in order?

Wow, I dont know.. but my golden did that to me today.. he woke up early this morning and vomited .. and then again 3 or 4 more times.. I gave him some pure pumpkin in hope to help his tummy and it seemed to work.. I waited until he had settled for about 6 hours without vomiting and gave him some boneless chicken, and then a little more at supper time. Knock on wood.. he is now ok! .. Not sure what it was... Im thinking he must have got into something?? Do you think that she could have eaten something when you weren't looking?

Hope she is feeling better quickly

I don't know if she could've eaten something. I suppose anything is possible. I'm going to call the vets tomorrow.

Poor Abby. I hope she is feeling better in the morning. How is Logan & Mason feeling?? They all eat pretty much the same food, right??

Fast her for 24 hours. Only offer chicken broth during those 24 hours. Then introduce a bone heavy meal with no skin.

Mason shunned raw so he's still on kibble. He's been doing well on it so I'm not going to force him to switch. Logan has been doing fine.

Abby did eat a treat this morning after she went to do her business (only peed), but she's still acting off. I'll be calling the vets as soon as they open. I'm very paranoid about it being a partial blockage.

I hope she is ok. Do dogs get tummy viruses? Maybe the meat had something on it she couldn't fight off.

Keep us posted and I will keep my fingers crossed!

I think Abby was off this morning just because she was still sleepy. After I brought her out for her second trip she was much better. She grabbed a stick and started running around with it. She was all wiggles, she ate another treat, and played with her empty Kong wobbler toy. I didn't feed her breakfast or fill her Kong because I'm still calling the vets to get her in today. I'm not sure what they'll want to do so I figured the less stuff in her tummy, the better. Oh, and her stool was a lot better this morning. Still on the soft side, but not watery at all. I grabbed a little to bring a sample with us. The vet opens in a half hour so I'll let you know when our appt is once it's made.
