I heard from Gail yesterday from the Pug rescue. She said Precious is still at the Vet getting testing. She has had numerous xrays and they arent sure exactly whats going on but they are now leaning towards a mammary tumor. I will keep you all posted as I hear updates!

I forwarded the funds to Gail at her email address. Thank you everyone who donated for Precious. She's in good hands now!

With a heavy heart I wanted to update everyone about Precious and thank you all for donating. Here is the email I got today from Gail at Homeward Bound Pug Rescue:
I am so sorry to say that our girl did not make it. The mass was as I expected, a huge hernia. It was in the spleen and other organs but they got it all out and repaired. She then arrested while still on the table and they could not bring her back. I can’t stop crying. I just wanted to give her the life she deserved without that horrible mass she had to drag around. I feel I let her down. I am so glad I got to see her and hold her and take her for a walk yesterday. It just doesn’t seem fair to be rescued and not make it through surgery. She had a home that couldn’t wait to come and get her. A friend and rescue worker was going to foster her and adopt her. It would have been the perfect place for Precious. One vet said it was a mammary tumor even after x-rays. I knew it wasn’t. I had a pug with a mass like that only not as big, more baseball size instead of softball size like she had. I feel so bad. She deserved more than she got. Sweet precious girl.

Boy... today has been a bad, bad day all around. Poor girl. I too hoped she'd make it through her surgery and find some comfort in a loving home to finish her days. Knowing she was a senior I was concerned, but she had to get the surgery. Poor girl definitely deserved better.
RIP Precious!

That is such a sad ending for Precious . Just when she finally had a chance for a better life. Now you are free to run and play at the Rainbow bridge . Your pain is gone. RIP precious.

Cait called me to tell me on my way home from work. It struck me hard...it seems so unfair but for me I have to look at the positive...its hard but I need to in situations like this
At least that lil girl found love and people that cared about her even if it was for a very short time. I do NOT regret saving her and getting her to Gail at the rescue. I know it was a risk because of her age but she just couldnt lug that huge thing around anymore. I want to thank every single person that donated in the hopes of Precious getting the medical help and love she deserved. We all cared and I appreciate all of you and your loving hearts. Godspeed sweet Precious...more people than you know loved you.

It hit me hard, too. I'm sitting here crying. There's been so much bad news the last couple weeks. I look around at my herd, their bellies all full from dinner, all sacked out sleeping, all safe and warm in a loving home. I do take comfort knowing Precious got to spend some quality time with Gail yesterday. She probably had more love and attention the last few days than she had in the last few years. She knew things were changing for the better. She was happier for that. RIP Precious! We'll all meet you at the bridge one day. ♥

Oh I'm sorry to hear this. There is no second guessing. She couldn't live with that tumor. I had hoped the old girl would have enough fight to make it through and know some happy years in her retirement as my Winnie did. It was with Winnie in my heart that I donated to help her. No one can regret trying to save her. Winnie will meet you at the bridge. Be healed and pain free.
