Senior Pug Need Help With Rescue

I got a call from my coworkers today about a stray senior pug that had a large tumor on her abdomen dragging on the ground. Of course it was right before work but I went and got her and brought her to the shelter where I volunteer. It was Vet day so I had the Vet give me an assessment. She says she cant be sure what exactly is going on whether its a tumor or some type of hernia without xrays. Of course the shelter has limited resources and would have to pay a local Vet for any xrays. They said they would give me time to find a rescue that might be willing to help. But if I cant find a rescue the only recuorse would be to put her to sleep. This poor old girl is SO sweet but was covered in fleas, has bad teeth and long toenails never mind the huge tumor

We treated the fleas gave her a wormer cut her nails. I went and buoght her some soft food and they put her in a cage with lots and lots of soft bedding. The tumor or whatever it is doesnt seem to be painful but has to be uncomfortable.

If anyone knows a pug rescue or an all breed rescue that would be able to help her PLEASE let me know. My heart broke for this old gal she has been on my mind all day!. Here are a couple of pics

oh, that is so sad. Bless that puppy. I hope you can find someone to help you.

That poor pup. It must be so happy to have someone like you take it and find it a warm safe place . Hopefully it can be helped with surgery.

If I set up a chip-in, would a few people be willing to donate a few dollars that we can get this girl some xrays? It would help to know what she's got going on to get a rescue to step up. Any exta money raised could be donated to a rescue for her care. If we get enough feedback, I'll set something up. THANKS!!!

It's a little after 2:30 a.m. and I'm bleary eyed from just waking to let Barkley (and the herd 'cuz god knows they ALL gotta join in) out to pee. I'll set up a small chip in (yep, that's like paypal) when I've had a couple more hours of sleep and a few sips of coffee. *yawn* Thank you!

I heard back from Gail at Homeward Bound Pug Rescue here in Oklahoma. I was tired and totally forgot to attach pictures when I wrote her but I replied this morning with pics. Here is what she said:

Sue as all rescues we are full to the brim but . . . if you can get a couple of pictures that warms people’s hearts and maybe a foster will come forward. Actually I have someone in mind.

But pictures will help a lot!!
