Help Legacy Boxer Rescue WIN $5,000.00!

I was recently nominated for the Hero Next Door award through Care2.com and Tom's of Maine. The winner of the contest will be awarded $2,500.00 for their charity and $2,500.00 for themselves, and I have pledged to donate my portion to LBR as well. LBR is the true hero.

I'm asking my friends, family and coworkers to PLEASE cast their vote for me, hence LBR, to help us win $5,000.00 to help boxers in the North Texas area.

We're 200 votes behind. I'm begging all of you to please post to your friends, family and Facebook friends. We had an emergency c-section this weekend on a female we pulled Friday (one pup refused to come out after whelping the first 4) and the ER charged LBR $2100.00 for that!! Yikers! We need funds to continue rescuing more boxers.

I just wanted to give you all an idea of what LBR does in the course of a few short weeks. Below is a list of boxers rescued in 2010. It's not a small list, and it's what we face every day here in Texas (at least for the past 5 years). It's non-stop, and unfortunately donations are way down due to the economy. We have the opportunity to win $5,000.00 to help boxers, and without it, we may have to shut our doors to new rescues while we try to raise much needed funds. Given the number of boxers we rescue, as you can see below, many stand to die in shelters if we shut down for as little as 30 days.

WE CAN WIN THIS THING, WE JUST NEED YOU TO PLEASE VOTE!

LBR is the true hero-next-door, I just have the dubious distinction of being the Pack Leader nominated for this wonderful award. I am honored and humbled, but I could never do this without the support of the wonderful volunteers at LBR.
