The "other" forum I used to post on always advised not to give tennis balls because they're a potential choking hazard. We have an old bin of very old toys and low and behold there were some tennis balls in it. Logan and Abby are in heaven! They LOVE them! I've allowed them to play with them while I'm supervising, but pick them up when I can't watch them. Do you allow tennis balls? Have you ever had a problem with them?

We have about 30 tennis balls in our yard
Makes it fun for for hubby when he cuts the lawn ![]() We don't have any inside cause then Mongo decides they are chew toys and I've heard the material they are made of can wear down the enamel on their teeth. For some reason they don't use them as chew toys when they are outside. We just use them for fetch. |

mine love tennis balls but one good sized hole in the trash it goes so it cant get shredded into those tiny choking pieces or swallowed pieces that could cause a blockage

Rigby loves them more than anything but he has to be supervised because when he is done chasing them he wants to chew on the ball and one time I had left the room for like five minutes he destroyed it and there we're pieces everywhere so I can see it being a choking hazard

Mya Loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooves tennis balls! Plus those chuck it sized balls are the same size as tennis balls.
I dont see any problem at least with Mya. Thats a pretty big toy to try to swallow. and yes....she tries to destroy it everytime but it takes her a while. |

Zeus destroys these harder tennis balls that do not bounce in about 5 seconds flat. He loves a good ball. not to chew on but to chase around the house, or make his mom get it from under the tc stand every 5 minutes!!!!!!!! lol. |

OMG thats what Mya does!!! I thought that the ball just gets away from her everytime but now I am thinking that it may be intentional!!!!!!! She actually will not even try to get it...but just give me this look expecting me to stop whatever I am doing to reach for it!!!! SNEAKY!!!!!!!!!! |

We have about 7 balls out right now. They love the Kong Squeaker tennis balls, but I have to watch them because they peel the covering in about 10 minutes!

Tyson goes absolutely 3rd world CRAZY over tennis balls. We buy the 3 packs at Walmart for $2.00. We can't get the petsmart ones or imitation ones cause those last about 2 secs. But he is extremely ball driven . He only has them supervised and just like the others said, after he's done playing ball he will tear it apart if given the chance, so it goes up. I would def think its a choking hazard but not so bad if they are being stimulated by it and watched, but no, I wouldn't just let him chew on it or have it at his discretion - he is very rough on them
