Dixie and her ninja friends will have a ornament pulled off the tree before I can blink, she is quick and sneaky. I have caught her a couple of times chewing on a branch. I just kinda like yell at her and tell her to get out. Normally she is blocked out of the room with a 4ft gate. she had only killed a couple of ornaments though. she is pretty with glitter on! lol

We are still in the process of getting our christmas tree up. I started the lights yesterday and our visitor Sarge thinks the tree is his personal scratching post. I'm not sure how he'll handle the ornaments once we get them on but I think I'll make sure to put the less expensive ornaments towards the bottom. Downstairs I've put up a small 3ft live tree but have it on a table out of reach from the couch. The brat pack haven't gotten into it yet and haven't shown any interest knock wood but I'm waiting for the day I turn my back for one minute too long.
Christmas trees and dogs.. make for wonderful Christmas memories lol. |

We never put ornaments on the bottom. Maggie used to stick her butt under it and move around scratching. Every year she'd do that. I cried this year while putting the tree up knowing we wouldn't have a butt scratcher this year. I would give anything to hear her bark, have her shove her head under my arm or even get beat by her tail.

I just put my tree up a few hours ago... So far, aside from when I first brought it inside, Georgie hasn't paid much attention to it!!! Of curse, there are no,lights or decorations on it yet, but so far, so good!!
Good luck!!! |

Thanks everyone! It's good to know he's not the only doggie that thinks the tree is for him.
I wish I could just block him out of the room but our house is a big open floor plan on the ground floor. I would have to keep him upstairs. He is currently at the vet for his surgery (neuter.) I am supposed to pick him up this afternoon. It's really weird because the house is SOOO quiet. He's not barreling up and down the stairs like a rampaging rhino. LOL |

mine all used to go after the tree especially Buster well two years ago they succeeded in pulling it down on top of themselves I lost about 45 ornaments total as they would not stop freaking out and give me time to pick it up off of them since then the tree goes up and they give it a VERY wide berth they even watch the tree as they go past it to go upstairs I am pretty sure they think they are going to get "attacked" by it again

Jack showed lots of interest in our fake tree when we put it up last week, but he was mostly interested in the balls. I was putting the tree together and messing with the branches and when I turned around his front legs were in the rubbermaid bin and he was trying to get to the balls through the packaging. Now he's walking around with glitter all over his muzzle because he's constantly nosing at the balls.

Our tree, Dozer's first, was up for about two days before we pulled out the baby fence. I have two sets of fencing. The other one goes around the dining room door so the grandkids can play in peace.
