So my roommate keeps her nephew over night sometimes and Letty acts completely weird around him. She barks and wags her nub at the same time. Her hair doesn't stand up but she will run at him. I think she has growled/grumbled at him a couple times. I do know she isn't too fond of men, not around them much except for my dad, whom she loves! Don't know of that's the issue or if she's just wanting to play with him? She's ok if she's in her crate, no barking. But as soon as she's out she acts different. Sorry this is kinda long, but I'm hopn some one could give me suggestions on what to do. Letty's my first boxer I've had.

Personally, to me it sounds like play. Boxers are VERY vocal when they're playing and young children can get them very excited. Never leave the child and dog together unsupervised but I wouldn't be too worried. Hopefully someone else here has some better advice for you!

thanks to both of you! I was thinking next time he's over having him give her a treat while I hold her. That way she can't jump up on him.

My girls are leary of little kids (under 10) but I think it's cause they aren't sure. My boys are all 11 & up so I just think the sight of ones smaller than they are used to. They will usually just sit next to us & let them pet them. But if an older kid comes to them they are all wiggly.
