We are in the same boat as you, but with our work schedule it only ends up being for 3 days a week. Our boy, Angus, is going to be 5 months and we didn't want to leave him in a crate all day. We made a room in our basement that is about 10' by 12'. There is absolutely nothing he can get into. We paper part of it for pee/poop and part of it has a big comfy bed for him. For the first few months we had a dog walker come and let him out mid day. I like that he has lots of room to run around and play with his kongs. Good luck!
