My female boxer is 17 weeks old. While I've been off from work for the past two weeks I've been trying to take her outside every day (weather permitting) for 15 minutes to a half hour each in the morning & afternoon for play in the backyard. Throwing the ball, rope tug of war, etc. At lunch time I take her for a 10-15 minute walk around the block. It's hard to walk her because she loves to stop & sniff at everything, or watch the neighbors, but I try.
During the day, in short intervals, I have also been running through the basic commands with her that we learned in puppy kindergarten. Sit-stay, down-stay, leave it, recall. When we are at work she is crated. My husband walks her before he goes to work and I walk her again before I leave for work and try to include a 5-10 minute play session too. Then my neighbor comes in twice a day to walk/play with/feed her. She plays hard but also sleeps hard too. Is what I described above too much activity for a 17 week old? She isn't destructive nor does she seem bored. But given that she is still a puppy I don't want to overdo things. |

Sounds like a super fun day! I would say it's a perfect amount of exertion and activity!

I think it's normal. At 3 months Wyatt was playing with a almost 2 year old and 5-8 year old boxers nonstop all day for about a week. He slept really good at night! Sounds like a well balanced day.
