When Jolly, our foster, came into our home Belle (our 7 month old) starting exhibiting dominant behavior. She'd cut him off while he was walking & drape her head over his neck (I'm sure she would have stood over him if she could). She would stop with a verbal correction but it wouldn't last long. She was pretty obsessed with letting him know she was his boss. She never did this with our little old cocker girls & now that Jolly is in his forever home, the behavior has stopped. Just wondering how you guys would deal with this so I can be prepared when we bring our next foster in. Thanks!

Everything you described what Belle did is what Pheona has done with Murphy. Including Pheona shoving Murphy under her while standing over her. I don't know how to correct it so you don't have that happen again.

Jaxon is sooooo passave that he lets Belah run the house.
IMO, I would personally let it be, unless they are getting physical. Maybe just make sure you still give her some personal time and don't give ALL the affection to the new one. Now that he isn't there anymore, just watch any new ones in the future. |
