When I had my Quaker parrot, all my pets (cats, dogs, and ferrets) all learned right away not to mess with the bird. Bobo Tweeter would bite the snot out of them...and I let him do it, because I figured he would be much safer if everybody was afraid of him.
They were, and nobody ever messed with him. Quakers are bigger than cockateils, however, and my gang were all pretty little when they met the Quaker. I don't think I'd risk that move with an adult boxer and a little 'teil.
