Bane is 13 weeks now and reminds me of the a toddler during the terrible two stage. Example, folding laundry on the couch, he'll be chewing on a toy then casually saunter to where I am, wait til I redirect my attention somewhere else, grab a piece of clothing and run. I try not to chase him since I don't want him thinking it's a game, but he rarely listens when I sternly tell him "come". Is this all typical? There's also times when I get the item away from him, he'll start barking and nipping.
ALSO, he thinks he rules the floor. Both my boys (almost 4 and 6) can't get off the couch without Bane going after them and jumping/nipping. We've never allowed him to, and I put an immediate stop to it, but he just isn't getting it. I hate the thought of keeping him crated during the day, but he's been getting time-outs more and more. |

He is only 13 weeks old. How much exercise is he getting, he sounds bored. As for nipping you need to teach him No bite and your children also need to know that Bane is not allowed to place his mouth on them. Give him time and be consistent.
BTW this is not the terrible two's, this is just puppyhood. Wait until he reaches about 7 months old. Thats when the teenage phase kicks in, lol.

my 12 week old puppy does the same thing...sounds like a normal puppy to me. i call him the hell hound and my mom calls him gator boy. just keep redirecting him and when you are fed up put him in the crate to give you some time. it just takes time for him to understand the dos and donts. patience and consistency will do the trick. good luck!

Both my boys know the dog is NOT allowed to bite, and they both say it sternly but it just doesn't phase him. He's definitely testing my patience lol, and now I'm a little concerned for his teenage years. |

Sounds like a normal puppy to me. To funny Kmeins I call porter my lil gater. Also, when he was a pup that Elvis song just kept going through my head "looks like an angel but I got wise. He's a devil in disguise". Good thing they're so darn cute.

Sounds normal puppy to me but as Kari said, wait till he hits around 7 months. My Murphy has been a total opposite of Pheona so I'm dreading it. LOL (Fur kids are all different as skin kids are all different.) Even if you can't take him out for a lot of walks, trying playing with a ball in the house. Roll it down a long hallway and have it bring it back, play tug something on that line. Be consistent with the biting/nipping & make sure your kids know to tell him no as well.
