Unhappy Aggressive behavior?

Hello all! New to this forum, looking for help with my brindle boxer mix rescue. I only know he is young, over one year though. He is a great dog, I rescued him in October and he was fixed the day I adopted him. His name is Mako

I've discovered he's not dog park material, for quite a while we would go daily and never had any problems. I think as he came out of his shell from being in the shelter he started to become more himself and more aggressive. He is very loud, growls, barks, shows teeth and boxes like crazy. don't know what causes him to go off on certain dogs and not others but it seems very very protective. He used to bolt right to any kind of scuffle in the dog park, almost to break it up it he's the head dog in charge maybe? lol.

Right now I live with my sister and her two dogs, one mild mannered small lab mix rescue and one little fireball pit mix rescue about 6 months old. The puppy and mako play great together most of the time, granted it is rough play so we have to watch her and mako because she is very small. He does put his paws on her and push her around a bit, and sometimes he has his teeth on her pretty long and hard, and I always feel the need to break that up... The lab mix isn't into playing with mako at all, mako sometimes bites his chest or ears I'm guessing to get his attention, but I'm not sure. The lab mix cries sometimes and I just don't know if he's a baby or if mako is really hurting him. Also, if I'm laying with mako or he's on the couch and I'm by him if the puppy comes to smell him or give him kisses mako growls and gets extremely tense, his eyes get big and he starts to growl and even try to bite her. It's hard because when he gets in that mode it's hard to talk him down and get him to calm a bit. Any advice or thoughts would be AWESOME thank you!!!
