Hello all, I've been looking through the forums pretty regularly for the last week or so and thought I would introduce myself. My name is Jeff and I am currently owned by Briggs my 3 year old boxer. Ever since I graduated from college I was actively searching for a boxer. After a long search I decided that I wanted to rescue a boxer to give the boxer a second chance at being loved. Through all of my research I realized that boxers are near impossible to find at shelters in my area. I looked at Boxer Rebound but unfortunately I live in a townhouse and do not have a fenced yard. I finally came across Briggs and imediately went and to see him. It didn't take me long to realize that he was the dog for me. Through the 6 short months that I have had him, he has made realize that I will always be a boxer owner (I can't get over the boxer wiggle
Anyways I just wanted to stop by and say hello and to thank all of you for the great information and advice within the forum. Thank you. |

Congratulations! What a good-lookin boy! How could anyone have given up that sweet face??? Their loss, huh! 3 is such a perfect age, not too crazy, not too lazy.
Where did you end up getting him??? Just curious. I thought Boxer Rebound was the only "game" in town! That handsome boy wasn't sitting in a shelter somewhere, was he???? I'm from Northwest Indiana, am familiar with Boxer Rebound -- Don't have experience, though, with them, but I do know they have lots of restrictions. Well, good luck with him. Soooo glad you gave him a home -- looks like he's king already! |

I got him from the South Suburban Humane Society in Chicago Heights. The people from the shelter said that the previous owner surrendered him because he was too defensive of the house and the owner. Don't really see how that is a bad thing but, their loss is without a doubt my gain.

Cool! You really got lucky to find HIM at a humane society... lots of times, rescues scoop them right up! Good for you!!
off topic: Hey, if you're in Bartlett, you're real close to a cool store in Wheaton -- closer than me anyway -- Natural Pet Market. They carry lots of great foods, including raw. They were sooo helpful to me. Hannah was a year old and had diarrhea for two months straight. Her vet at the time was baffled. -- Sorry to everyone who's heard this a million times -- THEY suggested grain free. She was literally fine the next day. So if you're ever in need of help, they're a great place to start! |

Welcome from Rocco, Wrigley and I in Normal, Illinois. We've had Rocco since he was a puppy and we rescued Wrigley last year when he was 11 months old. We fell in love with the boxer breed after our daughter got a boxer 2 1/2 years ago.
Briggs is gorgeous.
