Hi Everyone,
I had my first experience with boxers about two months ago when a sweet gentleman named Romeo lost his mommy and daddy - he scared the crap out of me to be honest, but after sharing a night watching him laying on his back with his feet in the air, lips practically laying on the bed and farting ( omg the farts) I feel in love with the breed. Since then I found a Boxer cross at a dog pound that had been abandoned and so very thin, but she has become an absolute princess in the household - stubborn at times, but when she turns her face sideways and looks at me I can't help it I just break out in a smile. Lucy has been with me a month today so it is a celebration of sorts. Yesterday, I came across a Boxer that has spent four years in a puppy mill in a small cage and she is going to join Lucy here on Tuesday and I'm looking forward to her personality quirks. I appreciate all the input I have read here the knowledge to a newcomer like me is so needed. I am alittle nervous that Lucy and Brandy will get along on Tuesday - any suggestions would be appreciated very much. Neither one of them are ever leaving my home it is meant to be their sanctuary for the rest of their lives. Look forward to getting to know you and learning from those that are familiar with the breed. Take care, Katrina |

Welcome!! Thank you for rescuing your two boxers. Can't wait to see pictures.
I am from Brockville! Currently I am living up in Northern Ontario.

Lucy I was told is between 5 and 8 years old and when she came here she was excellent with my son's little dog, but in the past couple of weeks she does not like it when dogs come on the yard - she seems to be more bark then bite and is gentle with the cat, my son's little dog and myself.
Brandy is 4 years old and I have been told by the rescue that she cowers behind people, but has seen about 10 dogs go through the rescue since she was taken from the puppy mill and no problem. I think they will be okay, I am just a worry wart, I'm more familiar with horses then dogs, but I am learning lots here and Lucy is training me very well lol. |
