Default Ziggy at 7 months - is he too little?

He only weighs 35 lbs. He seems so little compared to other pictures of similar age boxers. Do I need to feed him more? He gets 1 1/2 cups of Blue Buffalo Lamb and Rice three times a day.

And just for fun - his favorite sleeping position

He looks like a really good weight in your photos, so I personally don't think I would feed him more. Maybe someone knows better though...does feeding a puppy more make his frame grow bigger, or just make him get fatter? You know what I mean? Like a kid that is going to grow to a certain height...no matter how much you feed him, he will only end up that tall....but maybe also chubby if you overdo it haha He might just be a smaller boxer...if his weight looks right on his frame I probably wouldn't feed him more unless the vet or someone knowledgeable recommended it.

ETA: Now I feel like he might look a little skinny in the 1st pic! You had different pics on here before, haha Maybe ask the vet, or post a standing pic taken from above and to the side like Kari suggest below

Would need a standing photo to get a better idea of his body condition. He might just be a little fella

The only thing that I noticed was that you could see each rib in the first photo. But I don't know if it was just the angle? Max is smaller 65 last we checked but probably not much more if and he is over a year. I feel like Max is lean but I can't see each individual rib no matter how he lays. Don't know that that means anything though. He is absolutely adorable by the way!

Doesnt look small to me either....he is a tall lanky boxer like most boxer pups are. & months old still plenty room to grow. Boxers don't start filling out in width until there about 18-24 months old. At least thats what I've heard.

My boy has always been on the small side too. In fact, probably around that weight at your pups age. He finally hit 50lbs around 1 yr of age. Like others say, if you can see all ribs while standing he might be on the skinny side, ask your vet. If not, you probably just have a small framed dog. As far as food quantity goes, thats how much diesel always ate too. I've noticed since he has turned one his food intake has been decreasing though, which is nice for my debit card totw is not cheap when feeding a piglet :p

I think he is just right! He may be one of the smaller boxers and he is not done growing yet. Boxers come in all shapes and sizes. I think he is adorable!

Thanks everyone. I tried to get a picture of him standing - but he is never still unless he is laying.

I did check his ribs. They don't stick out. I can feel them if I pet him, but if he is just up and about, you don't see him.

He has an appointment next week for his pre-neuter blood work, I will ask the vet then.

Thanks again

He looks okay to me. He's still young-takes a long time to fill in.
