G'day! welcome! nice to see another Aussie here!
I specifically decided to give my female pup a girly name to make up for the big "scarey" "mean" looking boxer, now I know she is just a clown! Your baby is very cute! And I am sure he will grow into any name! |

Thanks Anita,
Its pretty common but i really love the name Duke. (big dukes of hazzard fan as a kid) And it really suits a boxer to me. I'm just a little worried that its a bit close to Jack, who is my eldest son. Any thoughts? Would it be confusing for puppy? Do they sound similar? |

Welcome from TX. Your pup is so handsome. Duke is a cool name. When I saw the one picture you posted, I thought your pup was a sealed brindle but when I enlarged it I saw he was a really dark brindle.

Thanks again for the warm welcome, time for an update
Well, he's been home now for three weeks, and we all absolutely adore him!!! We did go with Duke in the end and looking at him now couldn't think of another name that would suit him better He is doing great and adjusted so well from day one. Not a single night yet in 3 weeks that he hasn't slept all the way through. In the mornings, if he's up before me, just sits quietly in his crate. He has such a good temperament as well, and is great with all people again from day one when half the extended family came to meet him. Going great guns at puppy school, and we've learnt to sit/stay/lie down and now shake. Hi 5's are next!!! We are all so so happy that we went with a Boxer as the more he comes out of his shell, the more of a character he's turning into. Here's a few more recent pics. ![]() ![]()
