Playdate would be cool. I've heard it's actually ok as long as the other dog has had all its shots so he actually has a date with my parents' cocker on Sunday. Of course with your little brindle he doesn't sound old enough yet so we'd definitely have to wait a bit. Any good puzzle toys? I've heard the term but not sure what they are.

Samson has just a couple more weeks before his last set of shots. I'll keep you posted. It really does help when they are able to get some of that puppy energy out with other dogs! So far some of the toys I use are a plush porcupine that has squeaky eggs the dog can pull out. Sometimes I'll stick a couple treats inside as well. There are a few different style if these toys, ei. Tree trunk with squeaky squirrels. I use something called a Bentoball, it's a treat ball (this one keeps him busy for a good 20+ min.). Also, I use a stuffed kong (their website has different ideas). There are also toys that hide treats and the dog has to slide doors or pegs with their nose or paw to get the treat...we haven't tried that one yet. Need something to build up to!!
My six year old is fully vaccinated and has gotten pretty used to the puppy play, so if you can't wait a couple more weeks, let me know! I hope he has fun with your parents cocker!

I totally agree with the docked tail but natural ears. I love the floppy ears. Makes them look like puppies longer haha

Welcome!! I just joined too and I live in Roseville. My boy just turned 1 year on the 4th. I love the floppy look too. Cropping is so troublesome and painful for the pup, I'm sure. My dog is purely for companion purposes and he's an amazing cuddle bug. I have 2 cats (3 years and approx. 5 months old). The older cat doesn't bother with my dog and the dog knows to steer clear of the older cat, but the kitten and him are BFFs. He does get a little too rough with her at times. Boxers are A LOT of work, but so worth it. They say they grow up to the mentality of a 3 year old and never mature past that and it shows. My brother's boxer is 7 and acts like a big goofball baby. Here's my pup on his 1st birthday (can you tell I don't have kids??).
