Hello!
My name is Shae and my partner in crime is Miss Callie Elizabeth. She is a boxer/lab mix. Thought I'd join these forums because I love Boxers and the Lab people just don't get my strange little mutt. I grew up with Boxers and over the summer I was looking to get one of my own. That's how I found Callie. I was actually looking for a sealed brindle male. So when I stumbled across my little girl I was pretty determined to say no. Not only was she a girl but she was a lab; the absolute last breed I'd want. But I met her and I really did care what she was after that. I wouldn't trade her for anything. She's my heart dog and I love her dearly.
As it stands right now, I hope to get settled in, finish my degree, and hopefully get into fostering Boxers. My long term goal is to start a kennel for showing purposes, but we'll see. I'm a fan of floppy ears and in the AKC world, they're supposed to be cropped. Maybe I'll just have a Boxer ranch or something along those lines instead.
Now about the Princess. Callie is 7 1/2 months old and 40lbs. I don't think she's getting much bigger. She is built like a Boxer and carries herself like one, but she looks very labby. It throws everyone for a loop unless they're already familiar with Boxers. She has Demodex mange, which we've got mostly under control. She suffers from a severe case of selective hearing. Poor girl. She's also got a slight digging addiction. Though she didn't get the well developed socks I was hoping for, she does do an awful lot of boxing, especially when I stop petting her before she sees fit.
