Default Thinning of small intestines

Hi Everyone.
My beautiful boxer is Lilly, she is 6 1/2 years old. Things aren't looking good right now. I am wondering if anyone has experienced this. It started 2 months ago with diarrhea with blood in it, which shortly later led to loss of appetite. Now we are experiencing vomiting and burps where she spits up food or water. Sometimes the vomit is just bile. She has been going to the vet for these issues since it started. She is on medicine to reduce vomiting, a pro-biotic as well as metronidazole. Today she had a vitamin shot. She has lost 20 lbs and eats a small amount of cooked chicken every day. Energy is extremely low. Today she had a sonogram which showed she has thinning of the small intestines. The vet and specialist found no masses, and her lyphnodes are not swollen, and her temperature has been normal through the whole sickness. They do not know yet what is causing the thinning of her small intestines. We are currently waiting results on a test to see if there is an enzyme issue with her pancreas. The next step, should we have to do it is to have a biopsy on her small intestines, which terrifies me. This whole thing has been terrifying and I fear the worse.
My question is, has anyone experienced a boxer having thinning of the small intestines? I am scared I am about to lose my angel on earth, and I don't know what is causing this in her if it will be treatable. Thanks in advance to anyone that can help.

I have never heard of it but I do hope they can find out what is causing and that it's treatable. It's hard not knowing. Welcome to the site. There very many people on this forum who will be able to give ideas I'm sure..
