I'm very sorry for your loss. My Charlie became an angel on New Years day last year. I feel his loss every day...I talk to him all the time, tell him what a good boy he is. I always called him my good baby boy.

Every time I saw a brindle dog, I would cry, remembering Charlie. (this was a big problem, because I work for a vet, and we have quite a few brindle dogs in our practice). I am so happy that Joey (the new kid) came along. I'll always miss Charlie, but I love Joey, too, and now can't imagine not having a boxer in my life.

Your doctor may have been insensitive in the way he talked to you about it, but he may have a good point. It took me almost a year to welcome another boxer into my life, and while I have other dogs in my home, and love them all, there really is nothing like a boxer. They have such an intuitive connection to their people. I regret (in a way) waiting so long for another boxer, but if I hadn't waited, I wouldn't have Joey...and he has been such a comfort and joy to me.

It sounds like you had so much love for Lilly and somewhere, sometime, there will be another baby who will need you and that special love that you have to share. Until that day, cherish all your memories, and know that Lilly will always live in your heart, and will always be there watching over you.
