As Kari as already said, they're all boxers.
The difference is in the language that is used to describe them.
They all have the boxer "type" (that's how you know they are a boxer), but Euros and American have different "style" then each other.
Most boxer kennel clubs, whether it be the American Kennel Club(AKC), the Canadian Kennel Club(CKC) or the Fédération Cynologique Internationale(FCI), have a very similar breed standard for the boxer and it is up to each specific breeder to read and interpret the standard in their own way.

Thank you! I had to be polite of course when I saw them. But I was truly horrified! My Rocky BLK GSD, looks like the Tan and Blacks (size wise 117lbs) I remember growing up.

I have to wonder if the American (GSD's) have been bred down by introducing Malinois blood into the breed? Much smaller dog 75 lbs.

Though that seems like something a BYB would do.

Two questions First has a Euro Boxer ever won a National Championship over here?
Has an American type ever won a European Championship over there?

@chip18- I couldn't give you a definite yes or no, but seeing that there is not a "Unified Standard" I doubt if one side would choose the other as a winner, egos are too too big!!

Hmmm.. I have one of each now. It's hard to say. I love my American boy's personality. He's sweet, goofy as heck, and learns quickly. He doesn't take things as seriously as my German girl though. Numa is a quick learner too, can be sweet when she wants to, and is very serious about what she does. She is much more intense than he is.

I do love the dark mask on the German boxers. Love the amount of bone they have. Really like the look of a correctly structured all natural (uncropped/undocked) German boxer.

Love the personality of American boxers, their facial expressions are priceless. Love the look of a nicely cropped boxer with a strong head and body.

Sorry.. No help here.. I can't decide haha
