Default Weird incident walking Rally today

Today we decided to do a 5 km walk around one of the lakes here with a lady I know who also owns Boxers. We both have one that isn't terribly friendly (Octane) and one that is (Rally). So we took the friendly ones. Rally dive bombed her dog. ot biting or even making sounds, but not friendly AT ALL. She was trying to hump her dog. It's no secret to me that Rally is dominant but the only other dog she's had an issue with was a yappy thing that barked in her face and all she did was roll him over and pin him until he stopped.
But this dog did nothing to provoke her. She was 9 years old and such a sweetie.
I can't think of any reason why Rally would do this.

And on a side note, this is the first person I've met that said she would never own another Boxer...

Oh my...

That's a little strange. Maybe Rally was picking up on her attitude? I don't know, if you say you'll never own another boxer, would she exhibit resentful feelings? I dunno, maybe that's what Rally was picking up on. Or maybe the older dog has something going on medically? I know that there are alot of instances where one dog will dominate a sick/injured dog.

I have no idea, but who says they'll never own another boxer?!?! What is wrong with her? lol

She recently had a tumor removed. Do you think that might have something to do with it? I feel like I'm making excuses. We did the same walk the day prior with two other female dogs and she was fine.

My moms little Boston is female and very tiny (the runt), everytime she is here she tries to hump our dogs, male or female...she always tries. I think it is her way of wanting to be in charge but she is so tiny that the other dogs won't allow her to be.
They all get along nicely when she is here and play together but everytime during their play time she tries it and often times when they aren't playing but just hanging around. We tell her no humping in this house and make her quit but strangely our dogs don't even act like they realize that she is doing that. I suppose it could just be some play thing she does but I really don't know.

It seemed mean. She looked her in the eyes and then jumped at her.
That sounds super cute though, Napoleon complex.

Karma plays like you describe, it sounds terrible and mean (almost vicious) but she is not actually biting the others it is all sound.
No the humpty thing is not cute to us, it was at first when lil Kati would jump on big Kosmo's back and hump away while he just sat there like he didn't notice but we babysit her often and it has gotten very annoying so we have been correcting her for that behavior. It seems that she gets worse about it the older she gets.
Oh, also - all of the dogs here are neutered/spayed including the humper so I don't think it is a sexual thing at all. lol

Yeah, Rally is fixed and so was Roxy... and they are both girls. Rally does it to Octane all the time. It didn't seem like play, but it could have been magnified by the woman screaming... I wasn't as terrified as she was.

Rally could have just been having an off day. Aspen has off days every now and then, where she'll be in a situation that should be totally mundane for her and for some reason on some days she'll freak for no reason.

Next time you take them for a walk together just don't let them sniff or interact until the initial excitement wears off.

I realize that this might make me unpopular but Aspen will be my first and last boxer!
