They are absolutely beautiful dogs and pups, just not standing behind their breeding program IMO, with such a poor contract and no testing listed.

I agree with 2manydogs... Keep looking for a very reputable breeder who does do the proper health testing.

If you get a puppy from properly tested dogs then your puppy's odds for a long and happy life are much better.

We did research for quite some time and then went on a waiting list for our girl. The benefits of ensuring a good breeder far out-weigh the convenience of getting a puppy from a back yard breeder or someone who doessn't do the proper health tests. The puppies are generally a bit more money but from what I understand the breeders do not make any money on their puppies as the health testing is expensive.

Some breeders that do breed for showing also have family pets for sale as well. Not every single puppy they have is show-worthy so they typically are sold for pets only.

Keep looking. You will find a puppy that's right for you.

I just have to chime in because today, Merckx is relapsing for the 3rd time, his meningitis, which most are in agreement that he was probably born with this auto immune problem and they told us that they were health tested and all that Luckily it is steroid responsive, on top of the meningitis he also has demodectic mange. Ask for specific tests! My dog is only 1.5 years old and we've spent over $5000 treating him for so many things. Maybe we just got a special needs pup but if only we knew to ask better questions earlier.

Those who bred for showing are the typical reputable breeders you will find. Just because they breed for show doesn't mean they don't have any "pet" puppies. There are usually multiple pet puppies in a litter bred for show. They breeder typically keeps the most correct puppy for showing and places the other show puppies with people who show.. and the pet puppies go into pet homes. You will very rarely find a reputable breeder who doesn't show or work their dogs...

Well over the past couple days I have emailed and called several breeders with no returned calls or emails. Got most of the breeders off of akc website and the south east boxer site. Hopefully i will get a return within a few days. Really discouraging. But thank you to all who have replied and given their info.

If you're willing to travel my breeder is in Ohio. They Are going to have a litter due soon. Their site is Dunnford Boxers - Dunnford Boxers. If you look at my threads you can see my girls at every stage of life. Really good people, they health test and the results are on the site. They also answer the phone whenever you call. They also like to stay in contact for the life of the pup you get from them for 2 reasons, they consider you family once you get pups from them and so they can track any health issues that arise.

They are 2 sisters and their one male Dallas who's actually my Bellas grandad achieved his championship title and their other male Ryder is showing still.

The pups stay inside since day 1, are born inside, they have no kennels and all their adults sleep in their houses. All around GREAT people. They also love for the people they approve to come visit and meet them as well as the girls and boys and to see their places(they live literally around the corner from each other) before you get the pup. I made 3 trips out there before I picked up my girls. I got to see them every 2 weeks and they always welcomed the visits and fed me while I was there lol.
Good luck getting a pup

Also heres a link of breeders that may help- You have to be reputable pretty much to get on there. They're picky about whos links make the list

I agree with everyone else. I'd pass on that breeder as well. I got pretty lucky when I was searching for Logan's breeder. I found them relatively quick. They were great people, they show their dogs, they do the health testing, etc. The only downside is that I live in New Hampshire and they lived in Arizona. That wasn't really a problem though because we were able to fly Logan into our local airport. What I'm trying to say is that you shouldn't be afraid to reach out to breeders outside of Florida. Sure it's ideal to have them in the same state, the closer the better, but you may find the right breeder a little further away.

Have you tried to do a Google search for "health tested boxer puppies"? You should get a decent list by doing that. Good luck!!
